Exploring Gimp photo editing software.

I just love the look of these little salt and pepper shakers.

Pretty in pink.

Opera glasses make a fun and interesting subject.

They remind me a little of Wall-E.

Day two of my homemade breakfast challenge.

Morning Menu:
Blueberry Muffins from last nights dessert, strawberries, blueberries and an egg.
Full of antioxidants and protein. Right?
Tasted good to me!

I couldn't decide which picture I liked best so I put them both.

Simple Nachos & Blueberry Muffins

These were not very glamorous looking but very tasty to eat!

The blueberry muffins are doubling for dessert tonight and a side to eggs for breakfast in the morning. They were very easy to make and have a delicious struesel topping.

Joys Of Living Near Fertile Land

The girls and I love visiting local farms to pick fruit and buy veggies. This year we've only made it to the Hoffman Farms Store to pick some strawberries. The girls had a great time though. We went on one of the first nice days of the summer. Little did we know that we were not going to start seeing summer show her sweet face again until the beginning of August.

Hope was our taste tester.

Faith was our hard worker.

Grace worked hard too!

We made some freezer jam out of all those yummy strawberries.
Mmmmm...my favorite!

Reminds me of my Aunt Margie's, hers always tastes better though.

1st day of homemade breakfasts

So French Toast isn't exactly homemade, but it is also not dry cereal from a box. To save a little money this week I thought I would skip buying pre-made breakfast foods and make things already found in my cupboards and fridge. Now the challenge is to find some delicious (somewhat healthy) recipes for the rest of the week.
Some very happy girls after enjoying their yummy breakfast.

Minestrone & Strawberries

This week it's Faith's turn to choose what we make for dinner. So even though it's August and our house is over 80 degrees inside I decided to humor her and make soup. This minestrone soup was a great one to make this time of year because all the veggies are in season right now. The recipe is from http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking website. It was delicious!

We had strawberry shortcake for dessert! Mmm mmm yummy!

Later this week we'll be having Nachos, Chicken Potpie and Meatloaf. Hopefully I'll have the energy to make homemade breakfasts too.

Some more of my artsy photos.

We love owls at our house!
